Welcome to the Zoo!
Link to game
Choo-Choo Zoo is a game targeted at kids aged 3-8 years old, who are engaging in therapy for cerebral palsy or traumatic brain injury.
Home therapy comes with a variety of challenges. Parents and primary caregivers may be untrained, and children may sometimes be unmotivated to participate. This game aims to encourage and motivate children to engage in therapy at home with fun minigames using two controllers.
In this game, the player will be taken through a virtual zoo via train, where they can meet animals and play educational mini-games with them. Some potential benefits of this game may include hand-eye coordination, listening to instructions, and object matching.
Minigames:
- Petting Zoo: Feed and pet the animals, and see them react!
- Dance Party: Play instruments to the music and dance with the animals!
- Story: Watch a story play out with the animals of the zoo!
Controls:
This game is built for plug-in controls via a Makey Makey. The spacebar maps to the "left" control, and the down arrow maps to the "right" control.
To prevent young players from accessing the menu, the menu is mapped to the escape key.
- Parents: Use escape key to access the pause menu, and mouse to navigate
- Players:
- Keyboard: Use space and down arrow
- Controllers: Link a left and right controller to the space and down keys, respectively
- Adapted Keyboard (Dr. Sulzer's) uses 'v' for space (confirm) and ' . ' for down arrow (select)
